Bio
Eric Ornelas is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He brings a diverse educational and clinical background to his practice, with a strong foundation in both patient care and healthcare technology.
Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems from Arizona State University, followed by a Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics from Grand Canyon University. He later pursued nursing, obtaining both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Eric gained valuable experience working in progressive care and ICU settings, with a focus on cardiothoracic and transplant populations. With over five years of healthcare experience, he is passionate about delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care. Although he initially planned a career in nurse informatics, his clinical experiences led him to pursue advanced practice nursing, where he discovered a deep passion for medicine and direct patient care.
Originally born in El Paso, Texas, Eric spent most of his upbringing in Peoria, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. He has called San Antonio home since 2017. Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his family—he has been married for nearly a decade and is a proud father of two young daughters. He also has a strong passion for music and art and enjoys playing guitar in his free time.
