Do I need an appointment for labs?

You do not need an appointment for laboratory services.

Registration at the Hondo facility is available from 6 AM to 6 PM. After hours, services can be accessed through the hospital, and on weekends, the Medical Clinic of Hondo is open on Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Walk-ins are welcome during the weekend.

The Castroville and Devine Clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, but they are closed daily from 1 PM to 2 PM.

My doctor ordered a referral at my appointment. How soon should I receive information?

The referral process takes 5-7 business days to process and get approval through your insurance. You will receive a text when completed.

I was recently in the hospital and the emergency room, and I need a refill for my medication.

Please arrange a follow-up appointment with your Primary Care Provider at the hospital or emergency room.

Which insurance plans are in-network?

We are in network with most insurance plans. To confirm, please contact your insurance provider, and they will assist you in assigning a PCP.

What if I would like to be referred to a specific physician/facility?

Please notify the physician requesting the referral at the time the referral is entered.

What do we do if I switched insurance?

Please contact the office to update your records.  Once you are scheduled to see your specialist, please have the specialist office send a fax requesting the referral needed within 48-72hrs to 830-426-7471.

Why do I need an annual wellness exam?

Wellness exams help healthcare providers identify potential health issues. Many diseases can be prevented if they are detected early. By scheduling a yearly exam, your provider can monitor your health and give you peace of mind regarding any potential health problems.

When should I see my healthcare provider?

Should I see my provider for a cold?

If you experience a persistent cough, a high fever, or facial pain, it’s important to schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider to rule out more serious health concerns.

What vaccinations do I need?

Vaccination schedules can differ, so it's important to stay informed. As an adult, it's crucial to protect your health with vaccines for influenza, HPV, Tdap, and MMR. Does Insurance cover diabetes education?

Yes, insurances vary on coverage but most insurances cover diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy. All patients require a referral from their doctor. If you have not had any diabetes education or it has been a few years, ask your physician for a referral.

Can Diabetics eat carbohydrates?

Carbohydrates can be safe to consume for diabetics, but it's important to choose the right ones and manage portion sizes. Here are some guidelines:
